Austria, Lions Youth Camp “Vienna and around 2025”
This was my first experience participating in the Lions Youth Camp in Austria, and it became a real adventure for me, full of vivid emotions, new acquaintances, and unforgettable moments.
I spent the first week with Karina Runge’s hospitable host family in Vienna together with a girl from Spain — Irene. We were welcomed very warmly, we immediately felt like part of their family. During this week we saw many picturesque places — the Vienna Museum, the zoo, and also visited the old town. I was most impressed by the house in Altaussee — the views were simply incredible! We also visited a local festival, where we learned to dance jazz.
I spent the next two weeks at a youth camp with participants from over 13 countries. The atmosphere was extremely friendly and open — from the first days we all became friends through games, joint trips, and evenings on the volleyball court. The organizers made sure that every day was rich and informative: we visited cultural and historical places, rode bicycles, and much more. I especially remembered our trip to the school museum, where they told us how children used to study.
One of the most touching moments was our joint cultural evening: each country presented its culture, cuisine, and traditions. It was extremely interesting to learn more about other countries and show a piece of Ukraine — with national clothes, dumplings, and Ukrainian music.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Lions Club Lviv, my host family, the camp organizers, and all the participants for these three weeks that I will never forget. Thanks to this camp, I discovered not only Austria, but also a piece of the whole world – in the heart of every person I met there.
