This was my first experience with Lions Youthcamp and it was incredible: great people and lots of great memories.

The first week I lived with a wonderful exchange family, Pernilla and Palle, together with a girl from Italy, Letizia. It was an unforgettable week: we visited many different interesting towns, such as the H. K. Andersen house, the Johannes Larsen museum, and Legoland. The most I enjoyed was walking on the beaches near their town and admiring the Great Belt Bridge, which really impressed me with its size. We were also shown how their traditional fairs and festivals are held, where we met another participant from the camp, Olga from Poland, and her host family , and other local teenagers.

The next two weeks I spent with some really great people from all over the world, along with some incredible curators and organizers. The way they thought everything out and organized it deserves a lot of thanks. We spent the first day at the camp getting to know each other through different games. That was when I first tried traditional Danish games, and my favorite among them was Kubb .

We visited many interesting cities and did many unforgettable things. In short, my favorite moments were meeting the blind lady Mette, who taught us how to properly treat blind people. We also had the opportunity to try what it was like to be in their shoes. We visited a farm, a school, a kindergarten, and beaches. We really liked the Viking Boat Museum, where we were able to weave laces using ancient techniques, see the process of building boats, and even feel like real Vikings by riding boats.

My favorite memory is Copenhagen. There we not only walked around the city and admired the outstanding buildings, but also visited the Tivoli theme park . In addition, many interesting activities were organized for us at the camp: a talent show, where we met our host families again; a Danish Christmas with traditional food and games; our last party with songs and dances; night bonfires and overnight stays in the forest.

I want to thank again  Lions  Club, my host family, the organizers and participants of the camp for such a wonderful experience, thanks to which I got to know not only Denmark, but also learned a lot of interesting things about other countries and for the opportunity to represent Ukraine.
